The Midwest Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating a united musical community throughout Kansas City and the Midwest. This will be achieved by offering programs and services dedicated to:
the development and advancement of musicians
the education of the music going public as to the wide range of musical talent locally
and regionally
the rebuilding of Kansas City's reputation as a music center for innovation
the development of a united and sustainable music community within Kansas City and
regionally throughout the Midwest.
The Midwest Music Foundation recognizes that music is a universal language that brings us together and moves us collectively.
We intend to promote that strength through inspired and eclectic programming.
We are devoted to the promotion of music within Kansas City, a city that was once on the cutting edge of innovation musically,
and intend to bring the musical arts culture back into the spotlight at a competitive, world-class level.
The Midwest Music Foundation recognizes music as a legitimate art and aims to offer the working musician solutions in navigating
the difficulties involved in its pursuit through community partnerships, grants, educational programs, and networking opportunities.
Through our website, television series, and concerts the Midwest Music Foundation intends to expose and educate the uninitiated
to the wide variety of musical talent in Kansas City and beyond. Our hope is to create a new generation of music fans who
recognize the music created in their own backyard is as good as any created elsewhere.
Music happens here. |
